WHAT IS THE RSTI?

The Régime Social des Travailleurs Indépendants (RSTI) is a recent social coverage initiative introduced by the Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale (CNPS). It aims to provide protection against health issues, accidents, maternity, and offers a lifelong pension upon retirement.

WHO IS AN INDEPENDENT WORKER?

The RSTI applies to all independent workers residing in Côte d’Ivoire, regardless of nationality. This includes farmers, artisans, traders, transporters, athletes, artists, consultants, miniers, self-employed entrepreneurs, religious figures, and Ivorians working abroad. The scheme seeks to safeguard those operating independently across various sectors.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF RSTI?

• In cases of illness or injury leading to incapacity, the independent worker continues to receive income based on declared earnings to CNPS.
• During maternity leave, the beneficiary is entitled to income replacement for up to 98 days.
• Upon reaching age 60, the worker qualifies for a lifelong retirement pension.
• In the event of death, this pension can be transferred to eligible beneficiaries under specified conditions.
